Cookies and similar technologies

The Evangeline may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for website operation, security, performance, and basic functionality. We may also collect limited technical information through server and infrastructure logs when you use the Services.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If certain cookies or technical features are disabled, some parts of the Services may not function properly.

Email communications

If you join our email list, request a resource, create an account, or otherwise provide your email address, you may receive service-related emails and, where permitted by law, marketing or launch communications. Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe mechanism, and you may withdraw your consent to receive those messages at any time.

Birth data and sensitive timing inputs

The Evangeline may collect date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth to provide timing analysis within the app. We treat this information as sensitive, use it only as necessary to provide the Services, and store it using encryption at rest in our database.

Where feasible, we limit direct access to this information internally. If quality assurance review is conducted by authorized astrologers, that review is performed using pseudonymized logs rather than directly identified user records, unless otherwise necessary for a specific support or service issue.

How information may be shared

The Evangeline does not sell personal information. We may share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers and processors that help operate the Services, including hosting providers, cloud infrastructure providers, ConvertKit for email forms and communications, and Stripe for payment processing.

  • Professional advisors, such as legal, accounting, or compliance advisors, where reasonably necessary.

  • Authorized quality assurance reviewers, where limited pseudonymized logs are reviewed for verification and service quality purposes.

  • Legal and safety disclosures, where required to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

International processing

Service providers used by The Evangeline may process or store personal information outside your home jurisdiction, including in Canada, the United States, or other countries where those providers operate. When personal information is transferred across borders, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

The Evangeline remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable contractual and organizational steps to protect it when it is processed by service providers.

Retention of personal information

The Evangeline retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to provide the Services, and to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, and security obligations.

Without limiting the generality of the above:

  • account and subscription records may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward;

  • transaction and billing records may be retained as required for legal and accounting purposes; and

  • birth data may be retained while needed to provide app functionality and deleted or anonymized when no longer required, subject to legal obligations.

User rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, request deletion of personal information, object to certain processing, request restriction of processing, and request a portable copy of certain personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, you may contact the Privacy Officer at contact@theevangeline.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and may decline or limit requests where permitted by law.

Security safeguards

The Evangeline uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information in its custody or control. These measures may include access controls, encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive birth data, contractual controls with service providers, and internal limitation of access on a need-to-know basis.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. If a security incident occurs, The Evangeline may investigate, document, and notify affected individuals and regulators where required by applicable law.
